The Arthur Ashe Stadium is located inside of Flushing Meadows Park in Queens, New York. The stadium is the main stadium of the US Open Tennis Tournament. The stadium gets its name, Arthur Ashe Stadium, from the famous tennis player Arthur Ashe, who won the inaugural US Open in 1968. The stadium opened in 1997 and replaced the Louis Armstrong Stadium as the main stadium for the US Open. It cost $254 million to construct and has over 22,000 seats, 90 luxury suites, 5 restaurants, and a two-level players’ lounge. The stadium is currently the largest outdoor tennis-only venue in the world, making it the best location for the US Open Tennis Tournament.
